Diane Sandefur began her involvement with the TRIO Veterans Upward Bound Program at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. As the current Director and during her tenure in TRIO, Diane has served two years on the Board of Directors with the National Association of Veterans Upward Bound Personnel, six years on the Board of Director’s with Pennsylvania TRIO, and eleven years on the Board of Director’s with the Mid-Eastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel. She has served three terms as the MEAEOPP President, and seven years on the Board of Director’s for the Council for Opportunity in Education. |

Steve Burkett was Associate Dean of the Graduate School at Washington State University from 1985 to 2009, and is an Emeritus Associate Professor of Sociology. He was primarily responsible for graduate student recruitment and retention, TA training, enrollment management, and academic records and reports. He was also Coordinator of the WSU Masters Internationalist program with the Peace Corps and served as Director of the WSU Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program.

José Martínez-Saldaña, President of EDvolution has been successful developing and executing diversity programs and initiatives for over 25 years in both the public and private sectors. He has been successful in acquiring over $46 million dollars in grants for organizations, including $7,026,000 in the 2010-11 Talent Search Competition. Mr. Martínez-Saldaña has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE), President of the Western Association of Educational Opportunity Personnel (WESTOP) and as board member of numerous organizations.

Ralph Topete has worked in education for almost two decades in a variety of capacities. His training includes a teaching credential in Special Education. He has been a classroom teacher and administrator in K-12 and has administered federal grants at the community and university level. He has worked with school districts and TRIO programs in various capacities as teacher, trainer and administrator for almost 20 years. Currently, he consults with EDvolution. Previously, he directed four TRIO programs at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) Center for Academic Outreach and provided training for the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao’s TRIO programs. |

Pegge Till is well known for her knowledge of rules and regulations that direct general project management. Ask any TRiO veteran and you will discover the extensive span her TRiO experience covers - beginning when she started as a program officer in 1973 and then as a Regional Representative for the Department of Education from 1983 to 1994!
This session is for: TRIO program administrators interested in a nuanced understanding of the program authorities as they relate to compliant program management and service delivery, seasoned NASP peer monitors interested in recertifying their monitoring credentials, and potential peer monitors interested in the depth of legislative and regulatory understanding required of NASP peer monitors.
